Here’s an application you may have never thought of for Lego: helping the police to fight crime.

That’s exactly what’s happening in Scotland, however, where the local Edinburgh Police Division has created a quirky series of bricked-up tableaux for their social media pages to emphasize the importance of properly keeping your home secure.

Check out more of the (unusual) details below.

Each scene is accompanied with a poem, such as: “Staying in or goin oot? Lock the windaes ‘n’ front door. A simple step maybe, That’ll prevent access tae them on the chore.”

Why Lego? According to a Police Scotland spokesman it’s because Lego is a “universally recognisable” brand which resonates with the public. In other words, it’s a great way of making public service messages fun and interesting.

It’s hard to disagree — although surely with Lego Batman on the prowl, the Lego Universe is a whole lot safer and more crime-free than our own.
